Hello everyone and welcome to my very first Greek Life blog!
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexa Mann and I am a sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma (or Tri-Sigma) here at Oneonta. I am the Recruitment Director for our chapter and I joined my sorority as a freshman in Spring 2009. I'm also super active in the general Greek Life community. I am on the Inter Greek Council(IGC) Executive Board as the Community Service Chair and I work in the Office of Campus Life as a Greek Intern! It may sound like my whole life is Greek Life, but I do participate in other things. I'm a junior B-6 Education major with a Spanish concentration and I'm also a tour guide for the Admissions Office.
Being a part of Greek Life has really changed my college experience! Tri Sigma is always keeping me busy and involved, from our fundraising car washes to planning our philanthropy nights for Rocking For Robbie to our weekly chapter meetings. Not only do I have 50 other sisters, I also have made some really great friends from other Greek organizations.
Right now, we have 15 great new girls who are going through the new member process! It was the biggest new member class on campus and the biggest class we've ever had in our own chapter! They're all so hard working and I know they'll be a great asset to our sorority.
Well, I'm off to go to one of my Greek Intern meetings, along with my fellow interns, Jaclyn Fettinger and David Lucas. We're like the 3 Musketeers of Greek Life with Angie as our boss.
Until next week,
Alexa
