Hello again! I know I just blogged yesterday but since we lost last week, I'm blogging twice this week.
My little blog today is going to be about something really important in Greek Life: Community Service. I'm on the IGC E-Board as the Community Service Chair, so this topic is especially important to me. As Greeks, we want to give back to the community and campus and show that just because we're in Greek Life, we just don't party all the time. We have so many different things going on all year round. Our new members in Greek Life are taking turns volunterring at the Lord's Table this month, which is a soup kitchen right in Oneonta. We're also holding a canned food drive until next week to donate to a school. Each chapter holds their own events too, like the Prevent Child Abuse America Walk (Sigma Delta Tau), the Kidney Walk(Phi Sig), the Breast Cancer Walk(Chi Phi & Pi Delta Chi) blood drives, car washes, Habitat for Humanity, bake sales and more. Each spring, we have a whole day of community service called Into The Streets. On that day, Greeks(as well as so many other clubs and organizations) go out into the community and do different things, like paint buildings, plant gardens, clean up schools and more. It's really nice to give back to those who need it and you can ask any Greek about community service. We all really do enjoy it and you get to be with your friends at the same time, so its pretty fun!
I figure I'll keep it short & sweet for today. I'm learning how to add pictures on here so keep posted!
