Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! If it's Thursday, that means it's almost Friday which means it's almost the weekend!(And Halloween!)
Last night, Tri Sigma held our Rocking For Robbie concert in the Hunt Ballroom. We hold this event to raise money for our philanthropy, the Robbie Page Memorial. RPM raises money for play therapy for terminally ill children in two hospitals: one in Dallas Texas and one in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Usually, we only do this in the spring so it was brand new to us to have one in the fall. For a sisterhood event, we all made Rocking for Robbie Tshirts that we wore all day yesterday to help spread the word. We were a little nervous about it, but the concert turned out so well.
We had a variety of acts, from a rapper, to bands, to individual singers. We opened the show with a rap performance, which got everyone really excited for the rest of the show. One of our own sisters actually got up to sing a Colbie Caliat song and she was so great! Jenn-you truly are the next Carrie Underwood! Another favorite was Kevin Shea from Phi Kappa Psi. He sang some of his own songs, plus a Jack Johnson cover and he's so talented! He's also going to be performing next week in Phi Sig's talent show. We also had bands perform for us who have helped us out with Rocking for Robbie in the past, so that really meant a lot to us. We provided baked goods, chips, pizza and drinks to our guests and our performers as a thank you. We also held raffles for prizes like gift certificates to restaurants downtown throughout the show to get people to continue to support us. Rocking for Robbie could not have been possible without Sasha Meyer-Porco. She's the RPM Chairman this semester and she really did such an awesome job.
Here's a link if anyone wants to see Jenn Hochberg(our sister) singing last night! Hopefully it works, it's posted up on Facebook!

That's all for today, I've got to get back to doing some intern work with David. Have a great weekend and a safe Halloween!
XOXO
